Thailand, in its capacity as a contract state of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is prompt to enhance civil aviation security not only at the national and regional level but alsoat the global level. This mandate is based on the ICAO’s tenet: “No Country Left Behind”. In this context, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand represented the Ministry of Transport in hosting the Asia-Pacific Regional Aviation Security Conference on the Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP) which was held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, Bangkok from 20 to 21 December 2017. The approximately 150 participants numbered representatives of aviation-related agencies in Thailand and from 26 states in the Asia-Pacific region. The event was jointly opened by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Minister of Transport, Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, and ICAO Secretary-General Dr. Fang Liu.
