Beloved actor Michael J. Fox recently made a rare public appearance in Hollywood, reminding fans why he remains one of the most admired personalities in the entertainment industry. The Back to the Future star attended a special ceremony honoring his longtime friend, television journalist George Stephanopoulos, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside his Good Morning America co-host, Robin Roberts.
Fox, 65, has kept a relatively low public profile in recent years while continuing to live with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 1991. Arriving at the ceremony in a wheelchair, the actor nevertheless appeared ready to bring his trademark humor and warmth to the occasion. During his speech, he shared amusing stories about his decades-long friendship with Stephanopoulos, joking about his friend’s unusual schedule and suggesting that his early-morning phone calls were simply a clever way to avoid paying for dinner. His remarks quickly brought laughter from the audience.
But behind the jokes was a genuine message of admiration and affection. Fox praised Stephanopoulos for his kindness and for the way he treats the people he meets, emphasizing how much his friendship means to him. In a particularly unexpected moment, the actor jokingly nominated his longtime friend for president in the 2028 election, prompting another round of laughter. He concluded his remarks with heartfelt congratulations, expressing how happy he was to see his friend receive such an important recognition. Once again, Michael J. Fox demonstrated that even after facing enormous personal challenges, his humor, warmth, and positive spirit continue to inspire people around the world.
